It is our great pleasure to invite you to the International Symposium GeoPreVi 2017, the scientific event of the Faculty of Geodesy - Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, inspired by generous idea of „Smart Solutions for a Secure and Valuable Property” comprehensive and diverse work of surveyors from all over the world.
GeoPreVi 2017 is the most important surveying event held in Romania this year and we are sure it will create the professional frame and environment for discussions, exchanging knowledge and experience among surveyors, land administration, spatial planning and development and land valuation professionals participating to the international event.
International Symposium GeoPreVi 2017 gives to the participants the opportunity to present papers, debate and communicate in a professional and scientific manner highlighting their own contribution finding out smart technical solutions in order to ensure a more secure and valuable property in the modern and challenging transforming society.
The Faculty of Geodesy, that merges the traditions and excellence in Romanian surveying academic education, together with its outstanding event initiators and co-organizers professional associations, members of The International Federation of Surveyors - the premier international organisation that is supporting the interests of surveyors worldwide and covering the whole range of professional fields within the global surveying community have agreed to focus to very important challenges of the nowadays Romanian society such as land administration, land valuation, spatial planning and development under the impact National Program for Cadastre and Land Registration implemented by the Romanian Government during current decade and planned to be completed in 2023.
GEOPREVI 2017 SPECIFIC TOPICSCadastre and Land Management technical sessions will provide a forum for enhancing and exchanging worldwide knowledge about cadastre, land administration and land management and rise awareness about the importance of the development of sustainable land administration for economic growth and about the role of surveyors in all of these matters to the public and among stakeholders. Important topics such as: Land Consolidation, Land Readjustment, Continuum of Land Rights, Land Policy and Land Administration, Land Administration in context of rehabilitation and regeneration of urban areas, including re-use of brownfields will be under debate during the program. Advanced technologies and innovative solutions in cadastre and land administration such as remote sensing, UAVs, Web, GIS & Crowdsourcing applications, BIM, Land information interconnectivity and interoperability, Multipurpose Applications in Land Administration and 3D, 4D, 5D cadastre will be in the focus of presenters and participants.
Spatial planning and development technical sessions will be focused to topics related to the environmentally sustainable development planning and implementation, balancing the economic, social and environmental competing development demands. The leadership role of surveyors in well- functioning large urban areas and integrated disaster risk management, semi-formal and informal settlements will be addressed to. Urban and Rural Land Use Planning, Urbanization, Disaster Resilience and Management, Certification of rights for semi-formal housing and possession, 3D city models standardization, SDI (Spatial data infrastructure) for urban management applications will be important topics in the focus of presenters and participants.
Valuation and the Management of Real Estate technical sessions will give the chance to participants for the exchange of information, knowledge, experience and professional „best practices” of valuers and property managers working in all areas of real estate valuation and management in different jurisdictions and sectors of the industry and different modern ways for improvement of services to professional clients and the wider public. Valuation Practice, Systematic Cadastre and Land Registration as basis for mass Valuation, studies on Real Estate Markets in transition economies, valuation and the bi-directional taxes and transaction, expropriations land valuation and impact of Valuation Data in Urban Planning will be topics on the agenda.
Organizers agreed that Cadastre and Land Management technical sessions will be combined once with the other two topics related to Spatial Planning and Development as well as Valuation and the Management of Real Estate.
Additional sessions in Geoinformatics will give the chance to the participants for make presentations about all technology related topics from above and bringing on the presentations floors other traditional subjects related to the GeoPreVi focus such: Deformation Monitoring and Analysis, Engineering surveys for Constructive Works and Structural Monitoring and Geodetic Determinations.
PAPER SUBMISSIONWe invite you to submit your papers by September 1, 2017. It is important that all submitted paper to focus on the symposium theme and topics. Also, other related topics can be proposed, but it is suggested to contact organizing committee beforehand. All the papers should be submitted through conference website.

The abstract should be 300 to 500 words in length describing the objectives, results, conclusions and significance of your work. The abstract shall include the names and affiliations of all authors. Please feel free to submit an abstract on any topic related to the specific topics of GeoPreVi 2017. You can submit your abstract for “regular” or “short” oral presentation. A regular presentation is a 10 - 15 minutes, whereas a short means a 5 minute presentation of your topic.
One person can submit maxim two papers as main author, and maximum three papers as second author.

A display wall will be organized within the exhibiton area, where those authors that not included in the techical sessions program could present posters related to the papers submited and accepted by the scientific comitee. The authors will present and offer details on the posters according to a detailed program during expo hours.

LOCATIONBucharest is the capital of Romania, being the largest city in country and the sixth largest cities in the European Union. First mentioned in documents in 1459, Bucharest was designated as the capital of Romanian country in 1659 by Prince Grehorghe Ghica. In 1862 it became the capital of Romania. Bucharest is the main political, administrative, economic, financial, banking, educational, scientific the country, being the center of Romanian media, culture and art.
The origin of the Romanian name București is uncertain, tradition connecting it with the name of Bucur, which, according to different legends was a prince, a shepherd, an outlaw, a fisherman or a hunter. The stem word Bucurie means “joy” in Romanian language, and it is believed to have Dacian origin
Bucharest architecture is a mix of historical, inter-bellum, communist-era and modern. In the period between the two World Wars, the city's elegant architecture and the sophistication of its elite earned Bucharest the nickname of "Little Paris" (Micul Paris). You can find here some historical traces as Old Court (XV – XVII centuries), one of the most important medieval constructions, and New Court from 1771, known also as Burned Court, Manuc’s Inn (1808) the best preserved old inn in Bucharest, Coltea Church and Hospital (1701 – 1704, rebuilt in 1888), the Arch of Triumph reminding the reunion of the three Romanian countries in 1918, and several Palaces Ghica (1882), Cotroceni (1893), Stirbei (1835), Cantacuzino (1898 – 1900), University (1857 – 1869), and many others important building, hosting today important institutions, mainly cultural ones. The XX century make Bucharest be known also as the place with the second worldwide building, the Parliament Palace, used to be called also the People’s House.
Bucharest is welcoming you with its charming and green parks and gardens, inviting for a walk in Cismigiu (1845), Herastrau (spread over 187 hectares around Herastrau lake) where The Village Musem is located, Botanical Garden (1860) hosting more than 10,000 species of plant on 17 hectares, Carol, Youth, Plumbita, Bordei.
The art lovers will be delighted to find here the Romanian Atheneum, built in 1888, hosting every year during September one of the most outstanding international classical music festival, the National Art Museum, first built in 1815, The National Theater, The National Opera.
